About Mary Ann Hurst

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a 16 yr old high school junior studying French in Aix en Province one summer, saw the Duke Ellington orchestra under the stars at night in Marseille with chic French society - me dressed in a plain tan raincoat, like an incredible dream. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “In My Own Little Corner” I used to listen to this song over and over as a child on the 33rpm album "Cinderella" with Julie Andrews singing the song. It made me think of all the possibilities of adventure in the world, even if just in my imagination at home in my own milieu. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Too many memorable moments...all about the amazing musicians I've been able to perform with, their generosity, talent, humor and panache. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I often consider doing a project based on spirituals.
