About Buzzkill

Originally known as Butthead, New Jersey's Buzzkill formed in 1990 but had to change their name two years later due to the popularity of MTV's Beavis & Butthead. Oddly enough, MTV also launched a hard-rock/grunge show called Buzzkill in the mid-'90s, but this had nothing to do with the punk trio, which consists of vocalist/guitarist Bruce Steinert Jr., bassist Dan Roorda and drummer Mike Polli. They released their first, self-titled album as Buzzkill in 1993 on Antidote Records, and collected their Butthead material into an album a year later. By 1995, the group toured with a wide array of alternative and underground groups, including Helmet, Urge Overkill, Barkmarket and Buzzoven. That year also marked their debut single for Alternative Tentacles, Meat Is Dinner. The full-length Up came out a year later, followed by House Of Bad Touch in 1999. ~ Heather Phares
