About Jennifer Marks

New York City native Jennifer Marks began performing her brand of gentle rock music in the '90s. She made her name in the local music scene, and released her first CD, Pizza, in 1998 on her own Red Kurl Records. She won several national songwriting contests since the release, even landing her music in feature films such as the independent Jane Doe. Her second album, My Name's Not Red, was released in 2001 to a respectable response in college radio, leading to more national exposure and a nomination in the American Music Awards Best New Music competition. The next summer, Marks issued her most personal, sultry effort yet; It Turned Me On appeared on her own Red Kurl and was co-produced by Brad Albetta and Cameron Greider (Freedy Johnston, P.M. Dawn). ~ Bradley Torreano
