About James Luther Dickinson

An idiosyncratic and highly influential behind-the-scenes figure, Jim Dickinson has lent his talents to a host of top-notch artists, working as a crack sideman for legends like Aretha Franklin, the Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan, and blessing the grooves of records by Spiritualized, the Replacements, and Alex Chilton--among others--with his deft production hand. Dickinson released his first solo album, DIXIE FRIED, in 1971 and has been recording on and off ever since. In addition to the big-name acts he's worked with, he's also spent considerable time in his later years working with the North Mississippi All-Stars, which feature his two sons, Luther and Cody.
