Ghost Machine

About Ghost Machine

This US experimental heavy rock act was formed in 2005 by former Motograter vocalist Ivan Moody aka Ghost and John Stevens (guitar), who had briefly played with the industrial rock band the Clay People. With rehearsals progressing apace, invited former Motograter colleague Christopher Binns (drums) to help out, and with the subsequent addition of Mike McLaughlin (bass) and Brett Davis (keyboards/electronics) the original line-up was completed. The quintet’s self-titled debut album was released via their Black Blood label in summer 2005. The mix of industrial metal and progressive heavy rock was at times heavy going but tracks such as ‘Headstone’ showed clear signs of promise. The album was re-released by the Corporate Punishment label at the end of the year. Confusingly, the follow-up, Hypersensitive, comprised a re-release of all the material from Ghost Machine alongside 10 excellent new tracks. During this period the unusually named Stich replaced McLaughlin in the line-up.
