About New Young Pony Club

London dance-rock group New Young Pony Club's stylish electro-disco blend arrived with the release of the Ice Cream 7" in 2005, which sold out its run of 1,000 copies in just three days. A deal with Modular Recordings, home to Wolfmother and the Avalanches, and second single, "The Get Go," followed before the year's end. American indie fans got a taste of the group's energetic style when its biggest hit, "Ice Cream," was featured in the Intel Core 2 Duo television commercial in fall 2006. Fantastic Playroom, the group's first album, surfaced in 2007, followed by The Optimist in 2010. Lineup changes reduced the band to a duo, which under the new moniker NYPC released an eponymous album in 2013. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
