About Big Fat Hen

Latin rock band Big Fat Hen was formed in the late 1990s, recording its first album in December 1997 and January 1998, and releasing it in June under the name of Uptown. Soon after, they contributed to a local rock compilation with a song called "Somos Panameños," the first one the band recorded in Spanish. After issuing Small in 1994, Big Fat Hen moved to the U.S., touring Miami and New York. That same year, ex-Purple Cows member Giancarlo Rivera became the group's bassist. In 1999 Big Fat Hen had the opportunity to open for Molotov in Mexico. A year later the band released Medicine, after drummer Alberto Bermudez joined, replacing Andrew Rodanillo. ~ Drago Bonacich
