About JazziDisciples

JazziDisciples fed the fire in an already blazing amapiano scene when they released Disciples of Piano in 2019. Before then, the duo of Mr JazziQ and Josiah De Disciple, both of whom hail from the northern Johannesburg township of Alexandra, were dropping name-tagged bangers they circulated online. Their production leans toward mellowed-out electric piano chords and heavy-hitting drums that rile up the dance floor. Their early amapiano EPs were instant classics, like 2018’s Black Child, which featured Lady Du (“Hold Me Close”) and Lennonpercs (“Rra Dibrele”). They also became known for their legendary mixes, packed with exclusive white labels from themselves and fellow producers. The duo, which split in 2020 to resume their solo careers, left a mark on amapiano with lane-defining songs like “Sgubu Se Monati,” with guests Vigro Deep and DJ Buckz, and “Inhliziyo,” a collaboration with the late Mpura.
