About Versing

Seattle quartet Versing emerged in early 2016 with a noisy but tuneful barrage of post-punk, shoegaze, and '90s-centric indie rock, riding a pair of well-received EPs and one full-length to a contract with Hardly Art, which issued 2019's 10,000. Daniel Salas (vocals, guitar), Graham Baker (guitar), Kirby Lochner (bass), and Max Keyes (drums) initially met at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington before relocating to Seattle. Their debut outing, the seven-track Nude Descending EP, flashed both hooks and power with tones of vintage Flying Nun-inspired guitar pop. Their affection for Kiwi pop was further manifested on 2017's Tape EP, which included a cover of the Clean's song "The Blue." In September of that year, Versing completed their full-length debut, Nirvana, which saw release via regional indie Decency Den Records. A year later the quartet made the jump over to Sub Pop's Hardly Art imprint where they issued the single "Silver Dollar." Versing's sophomore LP, 10,000, arrived in May of 2019. ~ Timothy Monger
