Simply Fun

Sneaky Sound System's second album, delightfully entitled '2' is in short, fun. An already lovable electronic/dance triad releases their new batch of infectious, fun-loving beats, that fail to dissapoint. Standouts include the already popular 'Kansas City', and the rumoured to be second single, 'I Want Everything', the vibrant, contagious song you just itch to hear over and over. On top of this is the slightly 'rock-ish' hit '16', and clap-along, sing-along song, 'When We Were Young'. Finally the outro song 'Where Do I Begin?' brings something new to the Sneaky Sound System table. Its gentle lyrics coupled with the warmth of acoustics can't help but give you warm-fuzzies. A five star rating, and a brilliant follow-up. It is bound to bring back some Sneaky Sound System love.

this is ok but i have to say that all of sneaky sound system songs sound the ssame and i am getting over them

If you loved the first album, it won't be safe to assume you'd love this album. I first heard Sneaky Sound System with 'Hip Hip Hooray' and 'Tease Me', although people invested little interest in them then, I do recall of them. 'I Love It' was released and that's when they began to break ground and started to appeal to the masses. With 'Pictures' and 'UFO' and to a lesser degree 'Goodbye' it became obviously clear Connie+SneakySound=Success. Truth be told: their commercial success is largely due to the Connie collaborations. The first album was rich with eclectic cool sounds and funky electro fusions that brought something fresh to the market. I love Connie and her "Bjork-esque" voice and with the other band members also pitching in for a sing-a-long it made the album an easy listen, creating a dynamic distinction between the tracks. The *Connie+SneakySound=Success* formula did not work for me on this album. The production was sloppy and repetitive. Aside from 'Kansas City' and '16' I found the songs not worth a mention. I believe that the letdown was due in part to how Connie headlines the whole album. Half-way through the album her voice began to irritate and exhaust me. It is clear that Connie was too much of a good thing.The guys gave the previous album an edge, a flare that is lacking in this latest instalment. A bland and disappointing album - ooooh how disappointing - If you want to preserve your interest in Sneaky Sound System, it' would be best to avoid this album and stick to the singles.

Electro-pop group Sneaky Sound System emerged among the premier Australian club acts of its generation with its self-titled 2006 breakthrough LP. Songwriter/producer "Black Angus" McDonald and MC Daimon "Double D" Downey first met at a Sydney costume party in the spring of 2000, soon after hatching plans to co-headline DJ sets at a friend's nightclub. The following summer, they began collaborating under the Sneaky Sound System aegis, signing to Sony Music Australia and in late 2003 issuing the mix...
