1000 Stars gets 1000 thumbs up
The debut Album from Australian princess Natalie Bassingthwaighte, reveals a different side to Ex-Rogue Traders rockstar than we ever thought possible. The addictive melodies from the ex-Neighbours superstar lead into the album with the groovy "Catch Me If You Can" and it's a rollercoaster ride of inspirational, heartbreaking and get off the chair and dance songs all the way through to the bonus track "Star". The title track 1000 Stars was written about falling in love and it's my personal favourite track on the album. it's a soft melody which a chorus you'd expect from Whitney or Jessica Simpson. There's also "In His Eyes" written for her grandfather whom passed away a few years back. The album also holds several upbeat tempo tracks that will have you dancing along in your seat as you mouth the words to the incredible lyrics (Supersensual being one of the track I cant help but wiggle too when it comes on). Alot of the tracks were co-written by Nat herself and hold a deep and meaningful message to her fans, and if you listen to the words you too will be touched by her amazing talent. Overall, this is a great mix of songs - it's more like a compilation CD than an individual album! You have love songs, sad songs dedicated to passed loved ones, upbeat dance tracks, inspirations ballads and just a touch of cheesy pop to keep you on your feet. Rogue Traders fans might find it hard to adjust to her new sound as it is not pop/rock as we are used too. But it's definately a sound she can call her own. 5/5 stars for 1000 Stars

All I can say is wow. I have been waiting for this album since I found out she was signed up for a solo deal in 2006, and I am astounded by the quality of this record. This album is inspiring, it does not sop around with 'what ifs' about love or whinging about break ups, it is such an inspirational collection of songs ranging from the smash hit Someday Soon, to my favourite track 1000 Stars, which has a chorus destined for a number 1 spot on the charts. This lady has it all, she is a triple threat in the entertainment industry, and she is defnately making her mark loud and clear. Pop music in Australia is back, and it's shining brightly. Well done Nat 1000 Stars.
