Definitely One NOT To Be Missed !!

This Album Exceeds In Ambient/Funk Vibes That Contort Your Mind To Another Dimension. It Draws You In To Another World And Drifts You Away From All Means Of Reality. It Is An Amazing Collection Of Briliantly Crafted Tracks Flawlessly Depicted From The Time Of The 70's Onwards. A Must Have For Anyone Who Enjoys Ambience Or Even The Old Grunge Feel Of The Epic Analog Synthesizers Which Have Almost Been Lost In Time. 100% Epic !!

1978 Album Info

A portion of the 1978 Press Release:

After three arduous years scouring garage sales, ebay and flea markets, Blair Joscelyne put together an impressive range of instruments that were made in 1978 including a Fender Rhodes electric piano and Moog synthesiser featured on the 1978 album.

“The idea was not to create music that stylistically represented 1978, but to get the sounds and feel of that era and bring them into the present in a fresh way," he said.

A fusion of electro, disco, funk, and trip-hop, Blair used valve pre-amps and vintage microphones to capture the sound of the album – gifts from his father, who has been involved in the Australian radio scene since the 60s.

He didn’t stop there. The photographs and artwork reproduced in the CD booklet were taken on a 1978 Polaroid camera on unused, dated film stock. The album was mastered through the very same gear used to produce the audio masters for The Empire Strikes Back in the late 1970's.

The album originated in Kalgoorlie where Blair found his first vintage synthesiser.
“A number of years ago I found an old keyboard in a shop that was made in 1978,” Blair said.
“It was old, battered, dusty, uncared-for and long forgotten. It didn’t look pretty with its faded face, bent buttons and yellow keys, but it was doing exactly what it was made to do 30 years ago - fulfilling its purpose all these years on even though its physical beauty was gone.”
