Customer Reviews

Mediocre slop unlike the brilliant first two records.

I'd waited months to get this album having loved the first two records. This one is disappointing. Gyroscope have gone the way of many rock bands - mainstream to get the $$$. Yes it will appeal to the masses and coverage is already on the tele as the AFL ad and in the papers with Australia but to us stoic fans it is just a slow boring mediocre flop. Snakeskin is the only saving grace, even with its woosy opening. What happened to the energy of the previous records? Australia is absolutely terrible - if you are going to write a song about our great land then put in some memorable lyrics! I recommend everyone thinking of buying this to listen to the preview first and then just buy singles as this album is a waste of good aussie talent.

It Rocks

Gyroscope is an awsome band and their songs are awesome. I've been waiting to here music like this for a long time and i've finally found it

Awesome stuff!

This is a great follow-up to Are You Involved?, and after the release of Snakeskin and 1981, I was sure Gyroscope could do no wrong with their third album! The songs are a little mellower than those on Are You Involved and Sound Shattering Sound, but they still haven't lost that trademark Gyro sound and I reckon this is a band who'll just keep on growing and expanding their sound. Couldn't pick a stand out track, they're all dazzling. Buy the whole album!

In 2000, Gyroscope had built up a decent support résumé, as they had been lucky enough to score gigs with bands like Unwritten Law and Reel Big Fish, and were ready to record their first two EPs. Both eventually saw the light of day in 2001, just before the band took...
