Album Review

Three years after they were an international media sensation — hey, who doesn't like talking about and looking at Russian lesbian schoolgirls? — t.A.t.U. returned in 2005 with their second album, Dangerous and Moving. As Tommy Duncan sang, time does indeed change everything, and t.A.t.U. had a turbulent three years, separating from the Svengali manager and, most shocking of all, revealing that they weren't lesbians at all! In fact, Julia Volkova actually had a child, which kind of punctured the whole schoolgirl lesbian fantasy that had been pushed by the dearly departed manager in the first place. So, free to be themselves, t.A.t.U. decided to grow up for their second album — and nothing says maturity like ditching the short plaid skirts and bringing in Sting to play bass for a track, while hiring Richard Carpenter for a string arrangement for another. The presence of these two middlebrow titans may suggest that Dangerous and Moving sounds different than their debut, 200 km/h in the Wrong Lane, and while that's true to a certain extent, it's also misleading. Yes, there are a couple more ballads here, the Eurotrash quotient isn't quite so trashy (yet it's every bit as Euro), and, best of all, the girls' voices aren't run through the computer compressor that makes them sound as high and shrill as a drill. But all these little changes don't really alter the duo's music much at all.

TATY highly evolved!

In this album, the tunes aren't as repetitive in their first album but still catchy! "All About Us", their first hit song isn't really for me, it sounds alot like "All the things she said"... however, moving away from that genre, "Cosmos", "Friend or Foe", "Sacrifice" and "Craving" are my favourites. They are melodious, abit (favourably) slower paced. "Gomenasai", "Obezianka Nol" (<---- I'm pretty sure this is the correct English translation), and "Vsya Moya Lubov" are the easy going, intensed songs which can really fill your heart with sentimental sensation. They've certainly experimented with a variety of flavours such as a solo acoustic guitar intros unlike in their first album which was really alot of hardcore, sharp electronic blends. This album has much matured and I highly recommend you to try it out! Who cares what the public thinks - TATY rules!!!!! Vett Polmer

t.A.T.y. once again.

t.A.T.y. or t.A.T.u. known here have been going through some changes, unlike their old CD "200/km in the wrong lane" Some songs have got more movement it them like "All about us" Which is just a new copy of "all the thing she said" but anyway contuning on, "Outer space", "love me not" and "friend or foe" which are my most played cause of the movement thing but unlike the others these song yo cant get bord with, with the other songs they have got some gripping stuff in it cause when listening to them they get u so intouched with t.A.T.u. and u understand y they are singing about what happing like "Love me Not" thank god Russer have shared with the rest of the world theis tantlented young singers with a lot going for them, if you wernt a tatu fan this is your chance still loved by many they are t.A.T.u. and t.A.T.u. 4ever . love them lots (Ian Payne) :) ps Sorry about the spelling :(

Worthy getting!

This isn't as "rebellious" and interesting as their previous music, but I find it to be more mature, and less repetitive! I was a huge fan of their first album; secretly a bit weary of their new one - but I actually prefer Dangerous and Moving! Good tracks: - Cosmos - We Shout - Craving (beautiful song) - Perfect Enemy
