a new vintage soundtrack
After seeing 'Drive' at the MIFF closing night, the first thing I thought was I want that soundtrack! Before I got a chance to say it out loud the lady behind me said it to her friend and then 5 others including myself all turned to her and agreed. It fitted the film beautifully. Setting you back into the 80's, building emotion, adding to the sharp cinematography and stirring performances without overtaking. Never before have I been moved by the soundtrack of a modern action film involving car chases.
Made the movie.
As soon as the opening credits and opening soundtrack came on, I immediately felt like i was playing GTA, the pink font and electro pop music gave that exact feeling. Not only was every song in the movie brilliant and well timed, but it made Drive a 4 star film. With very little script, the music had to be the main sound heard and created every scene perfectly. Not only do I think this, my friends also were given these impressions and have some of these songs already. This album is a must buy.
A brilliant sountrack to a brilliant film
The electro-pop music always fits in well with the montage and Cliff Martinez produces the score of the year
