Easy come easy go
Marianne Faithful is an enduring artist whose body of work always deserves consideration and contemplation. However until her renaissance contemporary from the 60’s Leonard Cohen her recent albums have lacked melody and melancholy. This new album is maudlin to the extreme lacks an emotional presence and certainly offers little to the listener. Its not boring just empty. A pity as Ms Faithful is an extraordinary creative talent.
You'll lose the Faith
Wow. I was a huge fan of this artist's work but was let down incredibly. Her emotion has dropped immensely and consequently this is a by-the-numbers effort. She would have been better off including less songs and making what did make the cut polished. Give this one a definite miss, folks, particularly if you're a fan otherwise you'll 'lose the Faith' in Marianne's work.
