Album Review

Taylor Swift abandons any pretense that she's a teen on her second album, Fearless — which isn't to say that she suddenly tarts herself up, running away from her youth in a manner that's all too familiar to many teen stars. Swift's maturation is deliberate and careful, styled after the crossover country-pop of Shania Twain and Faith Hill before they turned into divas. Despite the success of her self-titled 2006 debut, there's nothing at all diva-like about Swift on 2008's Fearless: she's soft-spoken and considerate, a big sister instead of a big star. Nowhere is this truer than on "Fifteen," a kind warning for a teen to watch her heart sung from the perspective of a woman who's perhaps twice that age — a sly trick for the 18-year-old Swift. There may be a hint of youthfulness to her singing but that's the only hint of girlishness here; her writing — and she had a hand in penning all 13 tracks here, with six of them bearing her solitary credit — is sharply, subtly crafted and the music is softly assured, never pushing its hooks too hard and settling into a warm bed of guitars and keyboards. Like many country-pop albums of the 2000s, the pop heavily outweighs the country — there aren't fiddles here, there are violins — yet Fearless never feels garish, a crass attempt at a crossover success. It's small-scale and sweetly tuneful, always seeming humble even when the power ballads build to a big close. Swift's gentle touch is as enduring as her songcraft, and this musical maturity may not quite jibe with her age but it does help make Fearless one of the best mainstream pop albums of 2008. [The 2009 edition included bonus tracks.]

Oh my gosh Taylor, you're songs are amazing. It's just that this album costs more and it's the only "Fearless" album where you can get the digital booklet, and also they have the video clips and altogether if you love Taylor Swift, you're going to have to get this album if you also want the digital booklet. But that doesn't really matter. What I'm trying to say in this review is YOU'RE MY FAVOURITE COUNTRY ARTIST! (Though I don't really listen to Country!). Love this album.
I MUST WARN EVERYBODY, THIS IS IN AMERICA, HOPEFULLY IT'll COME TO AUSTRALIA, THERE COULD POSSIBLY BE A PLATINUM EDITION OF THIS ALBUM WITH HEAPS MORE TRACKS! SOME OF THE NEW TRACKS ARE BIG IN THE USA! PLEASE COME TO AUSTRALIA PLATINUM EDITION!!!!! (this is not a joke.)

Light and Shade - Taylor Swift

by BrettyBeetle

I love this whole album becuse Taylor Swift has a sweet, girly but matured and vulnerable voice that mirrors her artist's image. Her music relates to most people's portrayal of difficult relationships and life in general.Taylor's music has fluctuating levels of light and dark themes that is showed in the tone of voice that she sings with.
Love Story is a perfect example of this shine and shade. 'Juliet' gives a positive, humbly happy attitude in the levels of her voice at the beginning of the song. She moves into the sadder, longing, aching middle of the song when her Romeo leaves her.Taylor becomes moved with love at the end of the song as Romeo and Juliet are reunited and he proposes marriage to her in the name of young, pure love.
I also believe that 'White Horse'is an excellent example of darkness and sadness. It gives a gutted feeling to you as you listen to Taylor being rejected by a guy she trusted with her love. This song gives a new meaning to a broken heart and the way she says "maybe someday i'm gonna find someone who might actually treat me well!" this hints at a move forward on her part. Love this song!
This, I believe, is how fairytales end; and Love Story captures the heart and imagination of all little girls at heart.
Taylor Swift has a light, beautiful, free spirit that can give others positive hope on life during a dreary day.
I would strongly reccommend this album, as it is an investment to boost your happiness and appeal to women of all ages and backgrounds.
