The Fearless Vampire Killers
This EP is brilliant. Absolutely LOVE it. To give an idea, I have never put a review up for any other album before, so the fact I am doing it for TFVK says something. Their sound is kind of hard to explain.......a good recipe to highlight TFVK music would be it's got a couple of generous handfuls of throaty sixties and seventies rock eg The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, with a bit of Beach Boys guitar melody thrown in for good measure (....but only a dash so as not to spoil the mixture!!) Add a dash of Mazzy Star and a pinch of Johnny O'Keefe to taste. Top it off with some Lenny Kravitz, a sprinkle of Powderfinger, Rolling Stones, The Smiths, a teaspoon of Sonic Youth and a small dollop of Van Morrison.......let it sit for a couple of repeats and you've got yourself one of the best EP's from a sure thing I have heard for ages.
These guys rock!
