hyperbole
I saw Bridezilla for the first time last night at The MonaFoma Festival in Hobart. They were the support for John Cale and the Dirty Three and they completely upstaged them. The lyrical tones of the fiddle, guitar and saxophone with this unique ethereal voice sitting on top was to behold. There is something very special going on.
Bridezilla The First Dance; beware its hypnotic power!
Evokes the dark ethereal tones of Victorialand era Cocteau Twins, but this is no copy or homage to anything. Fine original evocative music. Clever lyrics that disturb, but in a good way. Has hypnotised me to the point that I have played nothing else on my iPod for some time. Have just bought their earlier EP to have something else to listen to. Clearly some powerful eldritch forces at play.
Their first dance? Encore!
It's different, but in my opinion, different's good. Unique, fresh and catchy. Favourites are "Beaches", "Queen of Hearts", "Tailback" and "White Feather". Definitely a band to watch out for, and this album's worth buying.
