Album Review
Flags, the third record from Brooke Fraser, was inspired by Fraser’s move to Los Angeles. It’s a well-worn singer/songwriter album, with songs that take their cues from the Lilith Fair movement and L.A.’s burgeoning Hotel Café scene. Fraser knows how to craft a sturdy pop hook, and there are many of them here — particularly during “Something in the Water,” which became her first Kiwi chart-topping hit in October 2010. Elsewhere, she stretches her boundaries by focusing on ambience and atmospheric textures, even evoking a young Fumbling Towards Ecstasy-era Sarah McLachlan during “Ice on Her Lashes.”

WOW!!!
I was thrilled to bits when I heard Brooke had a new album out, she is probably my top favorite female artist of all time and this album is so different and fun and my favorite so far which is strange for a 3rd album but Brooke just keeps getting better! I can not stop listening to this album, my fav song at the moment is Coachella, it just makes u want to dance around :) happy listening
Will she ever stop?
Seriously this girl is brilliant! She has excelled herself yet again.. There is a real depth of maturity, musically and lyrically. They obviously still come from a very deep and real place. She set out to create something new and certainly has! Nice to hear some collaborations too! And debuting as producer has certainly only benefited this album.. Keep it up Brooke!
Here's to you Brooke!
Once again she's done it. I love listening to Brooke. Her music is so relaxing. I recommend this album for sure.
