Album Review
Freight Train Heart became a huge hit for Jimmy Barnes, and with good reason. It followed on directly from the blue-collar rock of Bodyswerve and For the Working Class Man, yet managed to create its own identity. While it may have lacked complete originality ("Driving Wheels" is a simple update of "Working Class Man"), Barnes managed to make this set of songs an instant classic, thanks to the strength of singles like "Waitin' for the Heartache." Slightly more polished than For the Working Class Man (but never losing sight of its pub-rock origins), Freight Train Heart nevertheless runs neck and neck with that album for the title of Barnes' best release.

Classic
Back in the days before he tried to blow a blood vessel and make his head explode, Jimmy Barnes sang like a normal person.........this old stuff is brilliant and makes the memories flood back!!!! A great buy, especially if you love the 80's aussie rock!!!!!!
An Aussie classic!
This is by far one of the best aussie records ever made. Made with the songwriting engine behind the band "jouney", this is a killer record from the opening slide guitar done by "diesel" every track is brilliant. It's a bit dated but brilliant!
Best Album of 1987 - No Contest!! Awesome!!
If you love great vocals, great rock, great rock'n'roll band - you just cannot go past this album. I bought several copies and sent them on to my brother in the UK and the sales in Manchester were boosted hugely - in fact Jimmy toured there soon after to a welcome that he did not quite expect - and yes Jimmy - I DO take credit for that (well, some credit - my sister-in-law even broke her toe trying to get to Jimmy after the show...) This is one of the top 10 great Rock albums of the 80's, lyrically brilliant. 10/10 !!!!
