The next big thing

A must buy
by NM3051After hearing Whitley play 'Head, First, Down' at a gig at the start of the year, I'd been waiting patiently for this new album ever since. I'd almost forgotten he was working on it until its October 30 release, and it has proved well worth the wait. Featuring more drums than his tracks from 'The Submarine', some songs on this album have a faster tempo and would probably appeal to a slightly more mainstream audience; however Whitley has not strayed too far from his folk origins so fans won't be disappointed. 'Go Forth, Find Mammoth' has some very catchy tunes that you'll have stuck in your head for days. 'Head, First, Down', 'Killer', 'The Piece You Took From Me' and 'Bluebird' are by far his best tracks yet. I've not stopped listening to this since I bought it. Kudos Whitley. A must buy.
