Customer Reviews

The most rushed, unoriginal Goldfrapp album ever!

This album ends too soon, only 9 songs? Not very good value for money. Also, with the likes of Ladyhawke, La Roux, Little Boots and a host of other electronica female artists out there reinventing the 80s it seems Goldfrapp is for once behind the 8 ball. Tracks like 'Believer' 'Alive' and 'I Wanna a Life' are foreseeable singles but tracks like 'Shiny and Warm' and 'Voicething' are reminders of the better Black Cherry and Supernature releases.
For once the production seems underdeveloped. Supernature sounded much more polished than this. I really believed an album like this deserved a lot more than six months to make. It's an optimistic record full of nastalgia 80s Fantasy, with influences from ABBA and ELO loud and clear. I'm disappointed that this could really be the last Album before a 'Best Of' or 'Singles' Collection.

Goldfrapp never fails to disappoint

I have not stop listening to this album since i bought it 4hours ago. So loving this album :)

Complete Euphoria

It's fantastic to see Goldfrapp at their very best. It's been quite a long time since an electro/synth/pop album of such great quality has been released. In fact it's probably one of the best albums release in the past decade full stop. There are no fillers here folks. I suggest that you buy this album. I'm not a person who gets excited about an album release often. And I usually can't be bothered to write a review. So this release has to be something else. Goldfrapp have always put out quality material but I feel they have really outdone themselve.
The bleeps, squeaks and beats are completely addictive and have you bopping along before you even know it. And never have there been vocals as sexy as those of Alison Goldfrapp.
For me the stand-out tracks are Believer, Alive Again and Shiny and Warm. They sound like they belong to a Xanadu soundtrack for a new millenium. I've been playing them over and over again Voicething however strange a track it may be, I would say that coming from Goldfrapp it should come as no surprise and finishes the album rather suitably Goldfrappy atmosphere, just don't listen to Voicething on repeat, it could easily end up grating on you as you can't sing along to it.

If I could give ten stars or more, I would but as I can only give five. I give them without hesitation and with great pleasure.
Well done Goldfrapp.
