Album Review

On the key cut "26's," Christian rapper Tedashii's slow, deep, and Southern-fried voice blends with backing vocals that are straight out of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, but the unselfish message in the lyrics are something rare in the world of Dirty South or mainstream hip-hop, and how well they're written is rare in any flavor of rap you care to mention. Tedashii's success has much to do with his deep knowledge and appreciation of the world of secular hip-hop and how he applies it to his own music, which answers to a higher calling than bling. Improving on his above-average debut, Identity Crisis rallies against hip-hop's love of money, but it does so by getting to what Tedashii feels is the core of the problem, the younger generation's misguided sense of self-worth. That the man makes his case over beats that would qualify on any Ludacris or Rick Ross album makes it all the more seductive and whether or not you subscribe to his beliefs, you have to admit the lyrics are poignant, vivid, intelligent, and strikingly thoughtful.

Make War! Brilliant...

Love the over-arching theme (identity), love the style (classic bass-heavy tedashii tracks). Just excellent. I heard the first 10 seconds of the song Make War (Feat. Flame), the intro sounds like a sample of a John Piper talk (desiringGod.org) - inspiring stuff. Might be my new favourite song in the world. Easily set to be one of the best hip-hop albums I own. Buy it, the whole album, as soon as the "Buy Album" link appears.

it's all good - check it!!

Here’s the thing. Christian Rap is often C-Rap. But for Tedashii, it’s actually good. Well produced. Not lame. He’s got cred. Creative lyrics. Good beats. Great R&B loops. Sweet R&B singers. Encouraging. So much of African-American hip-hop culture is about identity. Cars. Cash. Bling. Women. Alcohol. Status. Ripped abs. Gangs. Violence. Identity Crisis is brilliant in the way it re-thinks the idea of identity for the Christian. The identity theme flows throughout the album. Created in the image of God. Fallen. Adopted. Now part of a community. The album has a clear picture of the gospel of Jesus’ death and resurrection and the new identity that belongs to those that believe in Him.

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This album is AWESOME!!! one of th best HHH albums i've every heard a real improvement on his first album too! deffinately worth the buy. By far the best songs are 26's (with Lecrae also an awesome holy hip hop artist) and i'm a believer. all round 10 Stars!!!
