Lupe Inspiration

When I first heard Lupe Fiasco’s ‘Kick, Push’ on Triple J, an Australian radio station, I knew I had to have it. I hunted the artist and song name, and for the longest time the only way I could listen to this song was by streaming it from purevolume.com/lupefiasco. And I would, I’d listen to it over and over. It’s that good. This song inspired me to start skateboarding. I still listen to 'Kick, Push' whenever I go rolling, because there's just nothing like it. The way the strings swell and then ebb, revealing that killer brass sample. The easy as you please tempo. The seemingly surgically-engineered-for-cool bass line. It’s all just right. The song flows together flawlessly, and it’s infectious. Try to stop yourself mumbling ‘kick, push, kick, push…’ after you hear the song, and you’ll know what I mean. The Lupe is clearly an artist going places. In a time when no one seems willing to step away from the 'ho's/ice/bling' rut that hip hop is stuck in, Lupe Fiasco has engaged his imagination and come out on top. If Lupe keeps writing like this, you can bet that I'm going to keep listening.

Smooth

This song is great, smooth, chillin' old-school hip-hop.

Kick Push, Kick Push

This is a dope song, after hearing this it will make you want to Kick Push your way down the street.
