A must have for your collection
This EP is recorded live at the Falls Festival, and it shows us why these boys are going to be huge! Thier rocking ability is amazing, and they exude energy, thankfully, this EP manages to capture some of the energy the boys give out. The first track is an Elvis cover, and I say without hesitation, this is one of the best Elvis covers I have heard in a long time! I heard this live once, and I fell in love! The EP gets better with every song. Honey Bee, Kingswood, all the songs are great!!!! These boys are a solid act, and one to watch. If you haven't heard of them, make the investment, it is money well spent.
Not Great...
Anyone who has seen these boys live will know that they are phenomenal on stage, and they have to be one of my favourite live bands. However, I think their live performances set up huge expectations that their recordings unfortunatly never manage to quite live up to. But this live recording isn't too bad, but isn't great either. Sorry (still think your great)!!
Der pHiL
I think this recording is outstanding. Raw, effervescent and energetic. As for pHiL's review - I don't think anyone expects a live recording to be as dynamic as the actual gig. When you see a band live you get the triple whammy - the visuals, the crowd atmos and of course the tunes themselves. I fail to see how even the best audio recording can hope to capture all that? In any case I'm here to thumbs up the album not bag pHiL. Do yourself a favour!
