Modern Day Addiction to Bowditch
Previously Bowditch has opted for an acoustic record showcasing her supreme lyrics and stunning vocals. On Modern Day Addiction she steps out of the box, presenting her best effort to date. The one time Aria winner presents an album like no other circulating on the Australia scene at the moment- its quirky, contemporary and retrospective. Bowditch introduces a new sound as heard on 'Bigger Than the Money' and the title track and shows her ability to construct a left of centre pop song. She doesn't forget her down-tempos either, 'Your Own Kind of Girl' presenting a stunning midpoint to the album. Modern Day Addiction is a welcome return a transformed Bowditch and a great listen.
#ModernDayADDICTION
This album is shooting up my lastfm very very fast and I can see it embedding itself in my all time favourites. There is a certain special element of character and intelligence that you get to see at a Clare Bowditch gig that (despite them being very good) generally doesn't translate to the albums, but in this instance shows very clearly.
Modern Day Addiction is a mixture of amusing, intense and all round intelligent lyrics with catchy, heartwarming, extremely creative and enrapturing music.
Strongly, strongly recommended.
