DLC continues to evolve their unique sound

DLC have already proven their musical mastery in their self-titled debut EP, with their soaring timbre and tribal, pulse-pumping beats. The Next in Line EP feels more like an album for a single than a proper EP, but it’s certainly a delicious appetizer while waiting for their upcoming full-length album. The tracks feel like they have more variety than the previous EP, and while fans may draw comparisons between previous songs, there are noticeable differences. Guitarist Rob Maric shows off a growing sonic palette, swapping from echoing single-note plucks to hard crunching chords in a split second. Vocalist Kim Benzie doesn’t flaunt his incredible vocal range as much as on the debut EP, but his powerful voice and chant-worthy lyrics continue to shine through on the tracks. Bassist Stewart Hill must be noted for his fast-tapping, melodic basslines, while new drummer Luke Williams brings much greater variety to their powerful beats. The changes are slight, but noticeable, and show great promise in helping this Brisbane band expand and define their unique sound.

Up to the same standards as their other EP

their last one was just truly awsome, and this is no exception. and with 4 songs for 3.50, why the hell not? Nice work dlc, keep it up.

GET THIS!

Excellent 2nd EP, more refined, vocally a bit lighter, but still as good as their 1st EP. This Oz rock band has catchy, intense, high quality vocals very much like another great Oz band Karnivool. I hope Dead Letter Circus follow Cog's path of 2 awesome EPs leading to a brilliant debut album, The New Normal. You can't beat other quality prog rock/metal bands like Tool, Porcupine Tree and Opeth. Also check out Dallas Green's vocals in his bands Alexisonfire and City and Colour. I can't get enough of this high standard of music which creates such intense emotions, using transitions of light and shade to create a mix of meloncholy and supercharged energy.
