Album Review

Did I say that Disappear Here is better than the band's first LP? Talk about being wrong! Let's pretend I never said such a thing, OK, because 1995's Open Up and Croon is completely and totally phenomenal. It's even thicker, louder, more roaring, and heavier than the U.S.-released Disappear Here, with even better songs. Singer/guitarist William Arthur is such a major talent, and has such a great band, that it makes me pissed off I never heard of him or them until 1997. "Open Up and Croon" and "Something" are just the sort of riveting sound and writing that's missing these days. Open Up and Croon will be hard to find on Australian import, but use the net, use the net!!!! (P.O. Box 434, Richmond, VIC 3121, Australia)
