Essential. Amazing collection of songs from an amazing band. I had a couple of their albums but hearing their songs collected together like this you realise just how great the Doves are. Brilliant from start to finish and a fantastic introduction if you are new to the Doves.

5/5 BRILLIANT

It's a shame we don't here more from Doves in Australia. This is a sublime collection from one of the most underrated bands in history. If this music doesn't move you, nothing will. Tracks such as 'Pounding' and 'Black and White Town' will both get you up and about and send shivers at the same time. And the epic 'The Cedar Room' is beyond description; It just has to be listened to.

The added videos in this collection make it a must-have for fans and the ultimate introduction to those that are yet to discover this remarkable group.

Wow. Just - wow.

A friend of mine recommended Doves, and I'd only heard a few of their songs because I didn't want to buy ALL FOUR albums. This album is PERFECT for me in regards to summing them up - so many favourites.

Black and White Town, Pounding, The Man Who Told Everything,Caught By The River, Northenden, Darker, Friday's Dust, At The Tower, Reprise, Almost Forgot Myself and - definitely best till last - THE CEDAR ROOM. The extra money means B-sides and music videos, which I recommend.

I implore anyone new to Doves to buy THIS album first, much more beneficial for the listener. Just put it in the background of what you're doing and see what leaps out at you!

Before embracing Brit-pop in the late '90s, Doves' three members — vocalist/bassist Jimi Goodwin, guitarist Jez Williams, and drummer Andy Williams — figured prominently in the Madchester scene, where they scored a Top Five single as part of the dance combo Sub Sub. "Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use)" peaked at number three in the U.K., but Sub Sub failed to produce any significant follow-up hits, and a fire destroyed their recording studio in February 1995. After taking several years to restructure...
