Great compilation

This is a great compilation of classic Dire Straits numbers and new Mark Knopfler tracks. It shows the depth of talent and the consistant ability to produce music that is different to the main stream available at the time. Great stuff!

A good sampler... With a few things missing.

In this compilation, we see many of the songs that Dire Straits are famous for, and we are given a good look and Mark Knopfler's solo works. From the quiet, almost mournful tones of Brothers in Arms, to the cheerful notes of Walk of Life, to the beautiful combination of saxphone and guitar of Going Home, we see most of Dire Strait's best work here. My only dissapointments were the non-appearance of Lady Writer, and the amusing Industrial Disease. Buy this, Love Over Gold and Sultans Of Swing, and you've got some of the best Dire Straits.

Cale, but they also had jazz and country inflections, occasionally dipping into the epic song...
