The Master Returns

I've lived with the album now for a day and I must say it's certainly a return to form. I've met many people who actually thought Rudebox was a really great album, but not for me. I had read a review on Reality and that it offered a litle old Robbie, some new Robbie and some Robbie you've never heard before. That's spot on, it really is a mixed bag. 'Morning Sun' is a classic Robbie ballad, 'Bodies' is probably the 'new Robbie' and I think he's nailed it. I love 'Do You Mind' from first listen, just a great pop song that's instant. 'Blasphemy' I'm told is about the Gallagher brothers which I love that Robbie will still have a go. 'You Know Me' shows the Trevor Horn production in all it's glory. 'Starstruck', 'Deceptacon', great mid tempo pop songs. Welcome back Robbie, I've missed you.

Reality shows us why we missed Robbie

I'm loving Robbie's new album, glad I pre-ordered it. I'm a bit dissapointed Itunes is bleeping the swear words rather than providing a version with an explicit warning, but I guess it is early days.

I love You Know Me and Starstruck. Just like he promises, it's old Robbie, new Robbie, and Robbie we've never heard before. Money well spent.

Welcome back, Mr Williams, you were missed.

STUNNING

WOW!! I have been a Robbie fan for a long time and I was really looking forward to this. This album totally exceeds my expectations. The beautiful vocals from him, and the huge stunning production from Trevor Horn makes this album simply stunning. I won't list my faves as there are too many, but the only grower for me was Somewhere and thats only as its too short, and I must give special mentions to Last days of Disco and Difficult for Weirdos...pure class. A complete joy from beginning to end. 6 stars

Out of all the members of Take That, Robbie Williams never really seemed to fit in. Roguishly handsome where his bandmates were merely cute, Williams was tougher and sexier than the rest, which made him more distinctive. He also fought regularly with the other members and their management, primarily because he was occasionally adverse to being so heavily packaged. So it didn't come as a surprise that he was the first to leave the band, departing early in the summer of 1995 to pursue a solo career...
