iTunes Review

They say you can’t keep a good band down, and while musical fashions come and go, you can always rely on the awe-inspiring power that Cold Chisel wield onstage. Chisel was back in the ring again during June 2003 for a series of sold-out concerts at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion. Taken from the shows, the 32-track, double-live set Ringside finds them in top-notch fighting form — like a canny, veteran heavyweight boxer, the band members were still light on their feet but could deliver the knockout punch when necessary. With such a vast repertoire of classic songs on which to call, they don’t put a foot wrong here. All the live favourites from their heyday are present and correct — “Khe Sanh,” “Home and Broken Hearted,” “Cheap Wine,” “Breakfast at Sweethearts,” “Goodbye,” etc. To keep the audiences guessing, they throw in such rarely heard fare as “Houndog,” “Plaza,” “Four Walls,” and “F-111.” Chisel continue to duck and weave, jab and strike with brilliant, newer songs from The Last Wave of Summer album — “The Things I Love in You,” “Water into Wine” — and finish the bout in winning form with the previously unheard “Fallen Angel” and “All I Wanna Do.”

Awesome

Saw them in Perth from right in front of the stage - just incredible!

The Voice! Hardly

As with all things Chisel the band are cracking and get better with age, except Jimmy's voice has been cracking more and more with age! It's a travesty and let's face it, he stopped singing and started screaming circa 84.

Jimmy Sounds Terrible

What Puzzles me is why do albums that are only a few years old have to get re-mastered? Obviously so us idiots go and by them again! I'm afraid to say unless Swany Starts Singing for Chisel.. Don't bother with anything live past swing shift. Quite Simply Jim Sounds Baaad
