Incredible, stunning!
I was skeptical about this album, not being a fan of cover albums in general. But what Peter Gabriel has delivered is beautiful arrangements and sensitive reworkings (Gabriel restricted himself to each cover only being accompanied by an orchestra/piano - no drums etc.) Highlights are Heroes, Mirrorball, Flume, The Book Of Love and Philadelphia.

This could very well be the most haunting covers album ever recorded. Listening to 'Scratch My Back' is like diving into an expansive ocean of human emotion. Unforgettable.
A great Peter Gabriel Album!
This is not a covers album - it's a great Peter Gabriel album. The incredible thing about this stunning collection is that Peter Gabriel has managed to make these cover songs his own. The decision not to use drums and guitars has turned out to be a master stroke. Instead, the centre piece becomes Peter Gabriel's voice and the song lyrics. In this context, both take on new dimensions of beauty that make this a front runner for album of the year.
