Bertie is brilliant
Surpasses anything she's done so far, with a slick, dark, enthralling piece of work. My favourite is Black Cats, there's just something funky and edgy about it that makes me want to play it again and again. But nothing really disappoints here, even the more laid back second half of the album shows its merits on repeated listens. Highly recommended LP from a growing Australian artist.
A Solid Effort
This is a well constructed album. Smooth melodies coupled with infectious vocals catch the unprepared ear and linger long after. The songs ooze a cold charm, bringing to mind times of longing and intense relations. The vast soundscape created, tethered to the inner voice simmering over, makes for an enthralling dichotomy.
Amazing Album
This is the best album out so far in 2009. Dark, Light, Even, Sporadic. Incredible Voice.
