Worth the Wait
This album is a classic. Kirisute Gomen starts off the album with a great hit of riffs and solos. The other stand out songs are Down from the Sky, Into the Mouth of Hell We March and Shogun. 10/10. A must have
Dont expect the world and this CD will astound you
Trivium have constantly been under fire since the release of Ascendancy being slathered as metalcore wannabe's and once they played live shows for the album all the nay sayers were shut up. Since the release of the Crusade everyone gave them alot of criticism and as such theie new release, Shogun is very much a return to glory for the Florida 4 piece. This CD doesnt scream as much as Ascendancy nor does it incorporate the insane drumming rhythms what it does have however is some of the best song structure that Trivium have produced to date. The Lyrics, Solos, Bridges and Clean vocals are the best you will hear from this band, although not quite on par with Ascendancy in terms of some content, this CD has become my favourite album. It wont happen instaneously but this CD will grow on you if you give it a chance. The title track Shogun is worth buying the album for.
The New Album
This latest installment in the Trivium saga, Shogun, is a testament to the band's progression. Incorparting styles from their previous albums they still manage to come out with a fresh sound whilst holding on to their roots. Although I haven't listened to the album for very long i still fell my heart being pulled toward the breakthrough album Ascendacy, I hope through time I can love Shogun as much as it. Some note worthy tracks include Kristute Gomen, Down From The Sky, Throes of Perdition and Shogun itself. Even if your not a true Trivium fan I highly recommened this to become part of your collection.
