A 'Stand Out' Album To 'Fit In' With My CD Collection
I actually came across The Basics through the Channel 31 show called The Shambles; the song 'Just Hold On' was used in the season 3 finale of the show. Since then I have heard more of The Basics' songs and have become more of a fan. It is great Australian talent like this that has encouraged me to go to more local gigs rather than shell out hundreds of dollars to see international artists perform. At least The Basics sound great - maybe even better live - which is a true testament to their uniqueness and stage presence. I have been listening to all 5 tracks on the Lookin' Over My Shoulder single anticipating for their album release - and I must say I have not been disappointed. All 13 tracks are different and yet still have that quality of being a single release - it can only be said of so few artists that every song on the album is worthy, and The Basics are one of those select few. For those of you who are looking for a band with great talent - lyrically and musically - The Basics are your answer. Buy their album, 'Stand Out/Fit In now!
Long awaited, but well worth it
This is a great album, and pleasingly is very representative of how dynamic the band are live, while adding just the right amount of polish. I'll definitely be dancing about the house in my undies to Sound Off, but even the slower tracks are brilliant, Better being a real highlight. Highly recommended for those who don't hate fun.

Hooray, finally a Basics album! These songs just make ya wanna get up and dance, so much fun! 60's, Beatles inspired music, sweet melodies, cool lyrics. Love it! ...awesome stuff =o)
