Album Review

Like their former tourmates and eternal soulmates Buckcherry, Hinder work real hard to have a real good time. This is especially true on Take It to the Limit, a sequel to their 2005 debut, Extreme Behavior, where they take their surprise success as vindication for bad behavior. Hinder show a great love for Guns N' Roses, recycling the escalating chromatic riff from "Sweet Child O' Mine" on the album-opening pair of "Use Me" and "Loaded and Alone," which also finds lead singer Austin Winkler adopting an Axl Rose growl, which is a welcome departure from his node-busting scream. Not that Hinder is quite stuck in the past: their great innovation is marrying this raunch to Goo Goo Dolls power ballads. However, like anybody too beholden to their idols, they often tread familiar ground too carefully. [This edition includes the bonus track "Thunderstruck."]

Not as good as their last album, but worth the buy

Not much I can really say except it definitely isn't as good as their last album but I was NOT disappointed at all. Worth the buy. The only song that doesn't tickle my fancy was Thunderstruck, original is better IMO. Only thing I found with this album compared to their last album is that there was a lot more screaming. Overall - Good rock album, nothing fantastic though, I find they are more suited to slow rock songs. 3/5 stars.

Improved a lot guys!!

They have gone from slow, boring and plain gay songs where they are just mumbling like "Lips of an angel" to great catchy hits like "Use me" Great album well done!

Whats wrong with it?

I totally disagree with everyone who says that this album is s***. I've listened to most the songs and there is nothing bad about the album. Sure its not the best album in the world but it is still worth a listen.

Hinder began crafting cocky, raucous post-grunge in the early 2000s, when Oklahoma City residents Joe Garvey and drummer Cody Hanson found Austin Winkler singing cover songs at a college party. The three formed the nucleus of Hinder, and the group started landing gigs opening locally for such bands as Theory of a Deadman. Lineup changes brought guitarist Mark King and bassist Mike Rodden into the fold, and the quintet signed with Universal after issuing a self-released EP. Their 2005 full-length...
