Fantastic follow up to Peapod
Picking up with the super catchy 'Like An Arrow', TRSB to what they do best on the following tracks - create a dark atmospheric sound with Sarah's beautiful/haunting vocals soothing out through the fuzz. The album like Peapod, is still a bit of a downer admittedly but if you're going to get sad, this is the music to be sad to! Especially haunting is the penultimate song 'Hymn to an Empty Room' and followed closely by 'Wont See You' and the title track. There are a few upbeat numbers - notably The Devil Song's punchier cousin 'The Eagle' and 'Heartbreaker' which is quite pop sounding. Overall, a worthy follow up to Peapod with its fuller, more dynamic sound. The album is quite short though, coming in under 30mins if you exclude 'Arrow' which was avail on their EP last year, but this is an Indie record, and its to be expected. This is a beautiful piece of work. Try not to wait so long for the next one girls!
THE SUN WILL TURN TO BLOOD
After the awesome 'Peapod' album and then the even more awesome 'Like An Arrow' e.p, i shouldn't have been suprised that they would release a gem like 'The Shiralee'. 'Bathysphere' comes out of left-feild and is amazing and 'Steer Your Helm Away' is probably one of the best songs ever written!!!
Bathysphere
This is one of the best songs ever.. I love my indie/emotive punk rock and this songs blows me away everytime i listen to it, think i have flogged it that many times I would be sick of it - No way.. Love her voice, the rest of the album is awesome.. For anyone who supports aussie music get on board - MC171
