What you expect from a Wilco album and more

Wilco have a "sound". They sound like no one else. They take sweet melodies and stretch them as far as they can go. This album is exactly what you expect from Wilco but enough new twists and turns to make it a whole new experience. Sparse piano, intricate drum patterns and soaring guitar parts intertwined with the basic strum of the acoustic guitar and Jeff Tweedy's distinct, understated voice. An album to really "listen" to, not have in the background. This is the sort of album that will continue to entrall long after the initial satisfaction of the first listen.
The only disappointing thing about the "Deluxe" edition are the extra songs. They were definitely left off the main album for a reason. Average lyrics and some self indulgent instrumentals. You have been warned.

Wilco's White Album

I read a review on this a few weeks ago which described as "their White album. Yes, it's that good." And it is. This is the band at the peak of their powers, able to jump from genre to genre wih absolute ease but still maintain their stamp. Brilliant.

"One of the Albums of the Year"

This album signifies Wilco's amazingly diverse talent. They are by far in a league of their own.

Guitarist Jay Bennett rounded out the...
