Twilight Soundtrack

I am a massive fan of the Twilight series and, to be honest, I am a little disappointed with the soundtrack. Paramore are amazing, and their two songs are absolutely brilliant! I think Muse are great on this soundtrack as well, especially because they are the band that inspired Twilight. Other than Muse and Paramore, I think the soundtrack is a little... random. Robert Pattinson's music is ok, but most of all I am really, really, really, disappointed in Bella's Lullaby. Bella's Lullaby is a huge part of the Twilight Series, and unfortunately I just don't think Carter Burwell managed to capture it. I think just a piece with ONLY piano would have been better, all the extra instrumental in the background distracts and I don't think it really has the essence of what Stephenie described it as. Anyway, I think Twilight fans should still buy the soundtrack!

Not just for Twilighters.

Fans of the book series do not need any encouragement to buy this soundtrack. People who have yet to catch on, should check out this eclectic mix of new and established songs. This is no Disney soundtrack. It is like the tone of the books; dark, romantic, haunting (especially Rob's songs), hypnotic, young and fun. I ordered the cd from America from Amazon and I still bought the iTunes version for the extra three tracks, as I will wear out my cd in the car. In the words of Molly Meldrum - do yourself a favour and get this soundtrack.

Two things:

1. Robert? You cannot sing. Please leave your broodiness on the screen and do not take it into the recording studio. It's painful. 2. Unlike nearly everyone else out there, I quite like Bella's Lullaby - as a piece of music. I think it's gorgeous. However, like everyone else out there, I definitely don't think it fits what Bella's Lullaby should be. It would have been much better suited as music for a different part of the movie. Bella's song should be solo piano, beautiful, uplifting, and have a clear melody - not be atmospheric and haunting. That's my two cents' worth.
