A brooding and darker brilliance

The second album from the Perth boys brings a darker and heavier mood to this soaring guitar and vocally brilliant album. The mood constantly changes as the album progresses from the rocking intro of uno ever building to silhouettic then drastically changing mood into the song Head in my hands displaying the bands finer moments. This build into the slow songs and a darker mood continues through out the album to bring a musical roller coaster of epic highs and and low airy moods. Fans of the bands previous album or bands such as The Butterfly Effect, Karnivool, Cog, Anathema etc will truly enjoy this album for the musical masterpiece it is. Even fans not of these bands should really enjoy this album and it is another tribute to the brilliance of Australian artists and music.

Album of the Year

Brilliant follow up to a acclaimed debut album, Birds of Tokyo are in my oppinion, one of the hottest Aussie rock bands, and it amazes me that iTunes users are only buying 2 songs! The whole album is a masterpiece that needs to be listened to track by track in order! 5 stars, cant wait to see them on tour!

Best $10.49 I've Spent All Year

For those of you looking for a much needed rock injection, look no further. This most recent offering from Perth rock outfit 'Birds of Tokyo', comprises a set of punchy emotive rock tunes that showcases catchy, well-crafted and mature song writing. While there are certainly stand outs on 'Universes', this is a fully realised musical project with each of the 11 tracks proving their own individual sonic worth. Overall, an amazing album that charges along with unashamed dark melodic rock fury!
