...put it on wax!
OK, though is Ozi Battla's first solo album, I've got a lot of his music in forms of his other projects such as the Herd & Astronomy Class. Both of these have a bit of different sound to his solo work, but I think I prefer him solo!
The first tune I heard (on the radio) was 'put it on wax', with it's skratched sample and bouncy bass, is one tune that makes me smile whenever I hear it...and if it comes on the radio in the car it always gets turned up to dangerous levels! Though I also heard 'integrity' on the radio it was mostly the strength of this tune that made me buy the whole album, without even previewing the rest of the tunes. I am happy with my purchase and would have rated it 4.5 stars if this was an option, not quite good enough for maximum rating, but well worthy of 4 stars!
So; what about the rest of the album?
Well for me, apart from 'put it on wax', the highlights for me are 'integrity', 'joyride' & 'she's gotta have it'. Clever lyrics, solid beats, deep basslines and skratches / samples are combined well to make the overall sound that is a good showcase of modern Australian hip-hop.
I bought the 'deluxe' version due to the instrumentals. They're not something that I really listen to, however it's always good to have more instrumentals to skratch over and to do some tricks with :D

only thing is there are too many instrumentals, but other than that its KILLLER

Brilliant album, takes you back to where it all started.
