Good things take time
A tribute to a dedicated and hardworking musician - Dave, your album ROCKS! I kinda have to say that as I am playing on it, but as Rick Price once said "it's gotta pass the car test" meaing can you handle it playing in your car stereo on long journeys? If it starts to really annoy you, you know you've got to re-write it. But these songs just need to be sung. I've had it in my stereo to learn all the parts I put down for viola on repeat....and the tunes just grow on you and in you. If the point of music is to move you, then you've achieved it. You should be proud...but you know, I still think your best is yet to come....can't wait.
Nice work
This is a great album. It is easy to connect with the lyrics, and the music has some good depth. I am a massive fan of "Sing Me a Song", but also When Life Turns Grey. No bad songs on this album though.
What a find!!!
A friend recommended this album to me and I can't believe how good it is. It's really hard to pick a favourite...Can't believe that he is not on radio. His songs are a little melancholy but they are hidden behind upbeat melodies. It's kind of Pete Murray in a way with them being mostly acoustic tracks. Anyway highly recommended stuff. Hoping to see him live!
