Mellgrim ,

What happened?

I’ve been playing this game for about four years. Love it. Downloaded the update yesterday and now it crashes every second hand. Also I have no idea what’s happening as apparently I play all characters....I’ll play the tutorial when it stops crashing but what happened to the game I love? Update: tutorial didn’t help but have worked out how to deactivate the NPC in offline. Happy again, but miss the card pictures. They were much lovelier before.

Absolutely amazing... Just one qualm.

This card game has everything and the expansion decks are all different challenges that requires you to constantly rethink your strategy. Every game will be different. The replayability is enormous. I've bought all of the expansion decks and the promo decks as well and it has kept me playing for hours.

My only qualm is the limited honor points system. While essentially a way to let the game build in intensity and expectancy with an end in sight, I find the points to be too low. Often, I find that the game is just starting to warm up and then it ends abruptly. It's quite frustrating when you've just overtaken the points leader. But I find the game ends too early even though I boost the points to the max. Technically, you can get more points than the system offer (once I got up to 900+ points) but that was pure chance and refined strategy. At that point, I knew the game was going to end after my turn.

My suggestion would be to increase the max points to 500 (can be toggled by 100), that would increase my willingness to play more in-depth. I still have yet to play all of the decks together. Another suggestion would be to include a marathon play where the game ends when there are no more non-monster cards on the top and center rows.

Please consider making these changes. I love this game very much.

Great Deckbuilder, just a couple of things

Still my favourite go-to game on iOS. So much depth and potential in every game. Love it. Still the gold standard for card game interaction.

Only a couple of technical issues with it. Firstly the performance seems a bit sluggish. Even on the new iPhone XS the frame rate isn’t very good, which seems odd for the complexity of what’s on screen. Probably more than it seems, but still. (I have been spoiled by the excellent PC version too, which is also great)

The other issue also stems from a recent upgrade to the iPhone XS, the notch. There’s a chunk of game hidden behind the notch, and the rounded screen corners don’t quite line up either. The former is actually an issue, the latter just a cosmetic thing.

Gameplay wise there’s nothing much to complain about, it’s great fun and the extra mechanics added by the expansions are perfect for swapping in and out. I would like the option to push the honor pool to a higher value, as others have mentioned. With a few expansions enabled it can take a while for the deck to start ‘working’.

Oh, and a button to spend all remaining red runes on cultists would be good. 20 runes and nothing in the center row? Lots of dragging ;)

So yes. If you like deck builders or just mobile card games at all, this is one of the best. Easy to learn, great controls and some excellent expansions for when you’re ready to add complexity.
