First Aid 12+

This app is really quite good, there is a bit of an issue with the DRSABC which may lead to confusion for the general public in an emergency: there isn’t a check for circulation, it is probably a good idea to clarify this.

I was impressed my the word choice of ‘not breathing properly’ most of the public believe that the casualty will stop breathing then Cardiac Arrest or AMI occurs. I would put a special note on the side saying that the patient can still be breathing when starting CPR, I know that it can be really scary when someone is in cardiac arrest and they may hesitate because the patient is still breathing. This may not be a problem if they are on 000 with an operator though, I just thought I would just recommend it in case.

This isn’t an issue with the app but a problem with iPhones/iPads. If you don’t use an app regularly, I found out it gets offloaded automatically by my iPhone. Basically that means the app and all the data gets put on the cloud and you have to download it again to access it. It’s to help with storage I think. You have to go deep into Settings to turn this feature off.

In the case of the First Aid app (that I’ve luckily never needed to use in an emergency), this could lead to devastating problems. Let’s say the app gets offloaded without you realising and you don’t have enough credit to download it onto your phone during an emergency, there could be huge repercussions. Anyway, I didn’t know where else to make this issue known... It’s something to be aware of.

Would be better if the app allowed you to go backwards a step - eg back to 4 if you’re on 5, rather than having to get out of the injury all together.

Also would be VITAL if it showed images of the insect/jellyfish etc that bites so we know the difference - because treatment of a box and bluebottle jellyFish are completely different and you don’t want to make that mistake
