Description
Ikebana is the ancient Japanese art form of flower arrangement practiced now for over six hundred years. More than mere flower arrangements, its traditions encompass a great depth of historical, cultural and spiritual awareness, with an influence that extends well beyond Japan. Ikebana is distinct from simpler decorative approaches by its asymmetrical form and the use of empty space as an essential feature of the composition.
Ikebana Kado showcases a colorful and informative demonstration event entitled “Way of the Flower”, by Professor Hoki Hara from the Ohara School of Ikebana. Eight arrangements are presented as separate video clips, each containing a commentary outlining the features, flowers and techniques of the display.
Once installed these enjoyable arrangements can be viewed anywhere, as the video clips are stored in the App. No network connection is required when viewing.
