Learning knots
With this app and a piece of string, shoelace and rope I’ve been able to learn a bunch of practical usable knots and now I’m kinda hooked on the hobby. Following the animations is simple but you have to work out how to make the loops and turns with your hands. I really like that and have used this app a bit like a puzzle game.
If I’d ask for anything more to be included it’d be the ability to pause and move the camera while tying. You can rotate and view a finished knot but a few more complex ones it’s hard to tell exactly where the rope is going.
Alternate animations might be useful too. For example, the bow knot or simple shoelace knot seems more elaborate than it actually is. They’re just wishful thinking and minor requests as the app is absolutely brilliant if you want to learn, or want a reminder on how to tie some, a lot of different knots.

Even at more than retirement age and always having worked with ropes on ships and later the farm I never was a star with good knots . So when a friend pointed out that there are apps for my tablet to learn I started a search. Found this but at 10 dollar …. Hmmm. So I downloaded an other one ‘a lite’ version of a paid one. Well the advertisement streamed in faster as the knots and when I wanted to get rid of the ads those clowns wanted a subscription of enough money to pay off a house !
Returned to this app , paid for its one off fee and moments later opened it. WowWowWow , this is just such a refined app , I WILL TIE MORE KNOTS AS THAT I HAVE SPACE IN MY ROOM ha ha …. This will be fun - such a super well designed app it is just amazing.

I’ve been playing with this app for several years now and it is brilliant for whiling away those quite hours we all have occasionally. There’s no way the average person could possibly have a use for all the available knots, most are very specialist but it’s nice to impress with a little knowledge. My grandson, a climber, thought he could outwit me by asking if I knew what a Prusik was, I had one tied and in his hand before he could draw breath; Grandpa 1 Grandson 0. This app is worth every cent, and some. It’s well written and is continually growing with more knots added regularly, I highly recommend it.
