A Great Big World

About A Great Big World

The New York pop duo A Great Big World creates uplifting, radio-friendly hits like their 2013 global smash “Say Something”. • Ian Axel and Chad King met as music business students at New York University, where both were in the Steinhardt Music Program. • King initially managed Axel, but their working relationship officially turned into a creative partnership in 2010. They began performing original songs and covers of artists like Ingrid Michaelson and Five for Fighting at New York City venues. • In 2013, the duo received mainstream recognition when their song "This Is the New Year" was covered on Fox’s hit series Glee. That same year, they signed to Epic Records and released the EP This Is the New Year, featuring their signature single, “Say Something”. • Christina Aguilera re-recorded “Say Something” with the duo in 2013, and the song reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also won the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. • A Great Big World’s 2014 debut album, Is There Anybody Out There?, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. • The duo returned in 2015 with their sophomore album, When the Morning Comes. • In 2019, A Great Big World reunited with Aguilera for the single “Fall On Me”.
