Biography

The Cansecos are an indie electronic group from Toronto, Ontario, who made their full-length album debut in 2002 in association with the Upper Class Recordings label. Comprised chiefly of writing/production duo Bill Halliday (aka Billionaire) and Gareth Jones (aka Generous G), the group also counts Paul Prince (bass) and Dan McCormick (drums) among its lineup. The Cansecos made their full-length debut in 2002 with an eponymous album released on Upper Class Recordings, a Toronto-based indie label co-managed by Jones. Five years later they released their second album, Juices! (2007), which features the popular song "Raised by Wolves." Various remixes of the song were released digitally. In 2008 the Cansecos released a couple bootleg albums digitally: Juiced!, a disco mash-up version of their second album, and Showers (2008), a disco mix. In addition, the group was employed to remix Sally Shapiro's "Hold Me So Tight" and the Black Kids' "Hurricane Jane," among other songs.
